29th Alva’s Virasat concludes on a grand note

The 29th Alva’s Virasat, an annual national cultural festival, concluded with a musical evening in Moodbidiri on Sunday evening. Renowned violinist Dr. Mysore Manjunath, flute player Dr. Praveen Godkhindi, and singer and music director Vijay Prakash were honored with the Alva’s Virasat-2023 Award.
The esteemed artists were felicitated by Alva’s Education Foundation President Dr. M Mohan Alva with shawls, garlands, plaques, and cash prizes of Rs 1 lakh.
Dr. Mysore Manjunath expressed gratitude, acknowledging Dr. Alva’s visionary contributions across education, art, culture, and sports.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel praised Alva’s Virasat for preserving Indian culture’s beauty and elegance.
The trio also delivered a heartwarming musical performance. Mysore Manjunath and Praveen Godkhindi presented percussion music in the Hamsadhwani raga, while Anuradha Bhat from Mangaluru captivated the audience with her melodious singing.
Dr. Mohan Alva emphasized that the festival isn’t just for entertainment but aims to convey various messages to the nation by showcasing India’s cultural inheritance. He also said that the festival is dedicated to Captain MV Pranjal, a national hero.
The event witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries including MLA Vedavyasa Kamath and others.
