New Delhi: A special CBI court on Wednesday adjourned the proceedings in two 2G spectrum allocation scam cases in which former telecom minister A Raja, DMK Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi and several others are accused.

The court will next hear the cases on November 7. The court, which has kept its verdict reserved since April 26, was expected to seek more clarifications from the parties involved on Wednesday.
It was also expected to announce the date of judgement.

The court, however, said it needed more time to give final shape to its verdict as the documents submitted in the cases are voluminous and technical in nature. Adjourning the case, Special CBI Judge O P Saini indicated that he may announce the date of verdict on November 7.

He also issued production warrants against Unitech managing director Sanjay Chandra and film producer Karim Morani, who are accused in the cases. One of the two cases was filed by the CBI against Raja and others in connection with the scam about six years ago.

The Enforcement Directorate filed a separate case later in 2014 on the basis of the CBI’s case, charging Raja and other accused with money laundering of about Rs 200 crore. There are 17 accused, including three private companies, in the CBI case. In the money laundering case, the ED filed charge sheet against 19 accused, including nine private companies.

Judgement in both the cases is expected to come together as they are related. The trial in the CBI case began in October 2011 and the court framed charges against the accused, including DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s ailing wife Dayalu Ammal. All accused are out on bail.
