3 of family, including pregnant woman killed in road accident

Raichur: Three members of a family including a pregnant woman was killed in a road accident near Umalooti village in Sindhanuru Taluk here on Wednesday, April 23 evening.

The deceased have been identified as Parasappa (35), a resident of Matoor village, his wife Kanakamma (28) and their daughter Nagamma (2).

Kanakamma who was pregnant had gone to her native in Chikkabergi village. The accident occurred when the trio were on the way to Ilakal for Kanakamma’s pregnancy-related check-up. Reportedly a lorry collided into their bike from the rear.

The lorry driver fled the spot after the mishap.

A case has been registered at the Thuruvihala police station.
