Bengaluru: The Kannada and Culture Department has decided to install a 30-feet bronze statue of “Nada Devi” (mother/Goddess of Karnataka) Bhuvaneshwari.
Reportedly on Monday, the State Kannada and Culture Minister V Sunil Kumar issued a circular to the officials to allocate half-acre land at the Kalagrama of Jnanabharati campus for the installation of the statue. The project will also include pictures depicting the rich culture and heritage of Karnataka.
The minister has given the deadline to complete the project within three months.
Through this project, the venue is expected to become one of the tourist attraction sites in the state.
The responsibility for the statue has been handed over to the Karnataka Shilpakala Academy.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Sunil Kumar said, “The Bhuvaneshwari statue has not been erected anywhere in the state by any government in the past. The current dispensation has decided to go ahead with the project. I have already directed the concerned officials to complete this project within three months”.
