3,085 posts in Forest Department likely to be filled up

Bengaluru: The state government has affirmed the making of 3,085 new posts in the Forest division, Law Minister T B Jayachandra reported in the Legislative Council on Wednesday.

Jayachandra said that between the year 2019-20 and 2023-24, the government will recruit 16 assistant conservators of forest, 67 range forest officers, 751 deputy range forest officers, 1,500 forest guards and 751 forest watchers. Of the, priority will be given to fill the empty posts in the Bandipur and Nagarahole National Parks,” he said.

Jayachandra was reacting to JD(S) MLC K T Srikantegowda’s inquiry on the opportunities in Bandipur and Nagarahole National Parks. He called attention to that about half of posts were empty in both the parks. “How might we anticipate that our forests will be secured without labor? He said.
