31-year-old Assamese actor Kishor Das passes away

Assamese actor Kishor Das passed away at the young age of 31, on Saturday, July 2 at a hospital in Chennai. He had been battling cancer for over a year, media reports said.

At the time of death, he was also suffering from Covid-19 complications. As per Covid protocols, the last rites of the actor were performed in Chennai on Saturday evening, media reports added.

The young actor from Mirza in the Kamrup district appeared in more than 300 music videos and several TV shows predominantly in the Assamese entertainment industry.

“Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma communicated with the Tamil Nadu government to make arrangements to send the actor’s body to Assam but it could not happen owing to the Covid-19 restrictions,”   local MLA from the Palashbari constituency Hemanga Thakuria was quoted as saying by India Today.
