35-year-old cleric killed in road mishap

Mangaluru: A 35-year-old cleric died on Wednesday after he met with an accident near Pumpwell.
The deceased is identified as Haafiz Tauseef Ahmed, a resident of Melkar-Rangelu near Panemangaluru in Bantwal taluk. He was working as a religious teacher at the Arabic madrasa in Taqwa Masjid of Pumpwell
It is gathered that the incident took place when Haafiz was on the way to the mosque to teach his students.
A case in this regard has been registered with the Mangaluru South traffic police station and investigations are on.
