35th State-level journalists conference on Mar 7, 8

Mangaluru: The 35th conference of state journalists, organised by Karnataka Union of Working Journalists will be held in Vaddarse Raghurama Shetty auditorium of Kudmul Rangarao town hall here on March 7 and 8.
Chief minister B S Yediyurappa will inaugurate the two-day conference in the presence of Dharmastala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade. Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda will preside over the programme.
The key note address will be delivered by Taranga weekly newspaper editor Sandhya Pai and President of the sangha, Shivananda Tagadoor will chair the programme.
A discussion forum on journalists, pros and cons of journalism and development of the coast will be held on both the days.
Padmashree Harekala Hajabba will be felicitated. Special achiever journalists – K Anand Shetty and Manohar Prasad will be honored. Chief minister B S Yediyurappa will honour the union. Prizes for life time service, achievements and writings for the year 2018 will also be presented.
Cultural programmes, including a Yakshagana performance will be held on March 7.
State president Shivananda Tagadoor released the poster of the conference.
Jagannath Shetty Bala, the Executive Committee Member, KUWJ; Srinivas Nayak Indaje, President Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association; and Ibrahim Adkastala, Chief Secretary of District Working Journalists Association, were among others present on the dais during the press meet.
