4 arrested for peddling MDMA in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Continuing their efforts to make Mangaluru ‘drug-free’, the CCB police have arrested four people who were peddling MDMA and confiscated 200 grams of the synthetic drug. Two separate cases have been registered, one at Mangaluru North Police Station and the other at Kankanadi Nagar Police Station, in this regard.

Case 1: 

In the first case, the CCB police arrested 3 individuals — Mohammed Haneef A N (47) and  Syed Fauzan (30) of Udyavara Manjeshwar, and Sirajuddin Abubakar (35) of Kunjathur Manjeshwar. The raids were carried out based on a tip-off that drugs were being sold in a Maruti Swift car in the Falnir area of the city.

CCB police said the drugs were reportedly procured from Bengaluru.  As much as 100 grams of MDMA, a Maruti Swift car, 3 mobile phones, a digital weighing scale, and cash were recovered in the operation. The total value of the confiscated goods is estimated to be Rs 10.94  lakhs. A case has been registered at the Mangaluru North Police Station.

Case 2: 

In the second case, the Mangaluru CCB Police arrested Ibrahim Arshad V K (30) a resident of Manjeshwar Miyapadavu. Police said he was found selling MDA near Kankanadi Railway Station Road of Alape in the city.

As much as 100 grams of MDMA, Rs. 1,000 in cash, a mobile phone, and a digital weight scale were confiscated from him. The total value of these goods is about Rs. 5.11 lakh, police added. A case has been registered at Kankanadi City police station.

Police said they are on the lookout for other suspects involved in these cases.

According to police Ibrahim Arshad has previously been in conflict with the law. Cases of assault at Manjeshwar police station and at Kumble police station, and a case of ganja peddling at Puttur police station have been registered again him.
