Mangaluru: Four leaders of the co-operative sector from Dakshina Kannada district are among the awardees chosen for the prestigious ‘Sahakara Ratna’ award.
The awardees include Monappa Shetty Yekkaru, the President of Bajpe Vyavasaya Seva Sahakara Bank, B Niranjan, the President of Thanneerupanta Primary Farmers’ Cooperative Society, Anil Lobo, the Chairman of Mangalore Catholic Cooperative (MCC) Bank, and Umesh T Karkera, the President of Mangaluru Yantrika Meenugarara Prathamika Sahakara Sangha.
The award will be presented during the closing ceremony of the ’70th Akhila Bharata Sahakara Saptaha’ held on the premises of District Central Cooperative Bank, Vijayapura on November 20.
