5 students electrocuted to death

Koppal: In a tragic incident, five students were electrocuted to death in Koppal’s Bannikatte on Sunday morning.

The deceased are Mallikarjun (16), Basavaraj (16), Devraj Halageri (15), Ganesh (14), Kumar Haider (15).

The students were reportedly removing the flag, hoisted on occasion of Independence Day, from the barrel. A live wire in contact with the barrel went unnoticed by the students and they were electrocuted to death.

A case has been registered at Koppal Police Station.
