5-year-old girl dies of snake bite in Mundgod

Mundgod: A five-year-old girl, died after a snake bite on Tuesday, December 31, in Mundgod.

The deceased has been identified as Mayuri Suresh Kumbleppanavar. The incident occurred when Mayuri, a student at a local Anganwadi, went to relieve herself behind the building.

She ran back crying, informing that a snake had bitten her. Locals tied a tourniquet to prevent venom spread and rushed her to the taluk hospital.

She was referred to Hubballi for further treatment but passed away en route. Doctors confirmed her death.

Mayuri was the younger of two daughters, leaving the family in deep sorrow.

Police and officials, including CPI Ranganath Neelammanavar and Women and Child Welfare supervisors, visited the Anganwadi and the grieving family for further investigation.
