5 youth get life for assault and kidnap of college student

Mangaluru: The fourth additional district and sessions court here in the city sentenced five youth to life imprisonment after finding them guilty of the kidnapping and issuing life threats to college student in the year 2015.

The convicted are Khader Safwa, Ahmmed Hussain, Sayyed Afridi, Mohammed Muksith, Mohammed Tabsheer.

The victim Razik had put a post, soliciting customers for his mobile phone on an online marketplace. The accused showed interest in buying the phone and invited him for price negotiations. On meeting, the accused abducted him on the pretext of withdrawing money from ATM, snatched his mobile phone, assaulted him and threatened to kill him.

Along with the life sentence each of them have also been penalised to pay Rs. 6000.
