53 arrested, 74 women rescued after police raids bar in Domlur

Bengaluru: Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested as many as 53 people and rescued 74 women from a bar in Domlur in the city. The police also confiscated Rs 1.04 lac cash from the bar.

The main accused arrested are Dinesh P (42), Dinesh Kumar (41), Riyazuddin (52), Prakash Dutt Joshi (23) and Hegya Raj Joshi (23).

As per the sources, the 74 rescued women were not formal employees of the bar but were used to entertain the customers who visited the bar. It is also said that these women were forced to dance in the bar.

The customers of the bar used to shower money on the women and were even allowed to dance with them for payment of more cash, informed sources.

The operation was initiated by police commissioner Alok Kumar to clear the city of restaurants and pubs that flout the law.
