Belgavi: The rescue team members found six-year-old Kaveri dead and buried in mud around 11.50 p.m. at about 30 feet in the borewell pipe. She fell and remained stuck since Saturday evening.

On Saturday Kaveri had accidentally slipped into the abandoned borewell in her neighbouring field when playing with her friends. Several rescue attempts in the last three days nearly 56-hours but dint yield any results and the girl was retrieved dead a few minutes before midnight on Monday.

The body has been shifted to a government hospital in Kokatnur.
