6 killed, 20 injured after tractor falls off bridge

Belgaum: Six labourers were killed while 20 others were injured when the tractor in which they were travelling fell off a bridge near Bogur village, Khanapura Taluk on Saturday, February 8.

The deceased are identified as, Savitri Babu Hunasikatti, Tangevva Yallappa Hunasikatti, Ashoka Fakira Kedari, Shantamma Yallappa Junjari, Shantavva Hanumanta Alagundi and Nagavva Yashavanta Matholli, residents of Bogur Village.

As per reports, these workers were travelling from Bogur village to Itagi for labour work on the tractor. The tractor was travelling fast and fell down from the 30-feet bridge, some 500 meters away from Bogur village.

Four persons were killed on the spot after the tractor’s trolley fell over them while two others died on the way to the hospital.
