60-year-old woman gulps down 6 idlis in a minute, to win idli-eating contest

Mysuru: A 60-year-old woman gulped down six idlis within a minute to bag the first place in an idli eating competition held on the occasion of Mysuru Dasara here.

Several women of different age groups took part in the idli eating contest, held especially for women.

The women, were made to sit on a long table in a pandal and were served idlis and sambhar and the person who ate the maximum number of idlis in a minute would win the competition.

Sarojamma, a resident of Hullahalli ate 6 idlis in just 1 minute with a lot of ease even as other contestants were seen struggling to gulp down the idlis. She just smiled after the organisers clocked a minute on their stop watches and stopped the women from eating any further.

Mysuru is known for the pomp and gaiety with which the traditional Dasara festival is held here annually during the Navaratri. This year the festival is being celebrated from September 29 to October 8.
