Voting continues till 9pm at polling booth in Mandya

Mandya: Voting continued till 9 pm at a polling booth in Pandavapura, in the wake of Lok Sabha election in the district

In Harohalli – polling booth number 90,  polling continued till 9 pm as around 250 voters turned up after 5:30 pm to cast their votes.

According to the authorities, around 250 voters reached the polling booth at around 5.30 pm to cast their vote. The delay was caused as they had earlier been to a neighbouring village to attend the final rites of a villager.

“As they were in huge number the voting continued till 9 pm,” informed the polling authorities.

Amongst the constituency that went to polls, Mandya reported the highest voting percentage. In many places of the district, voting continued beyond 6 pm as the voters turned up in large numbers due to the fierce competition between the JDS-Congress alliance candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy and independent candidate Sumalatha Ambaressh, the authorities informed
