Canberra, Australia: It was a regular day at a famous hair-styling salon in Canberra until a surprise visitor made it unforgettable. On November 28, an online appointment was booked under the name “V.K.” for 1 PM. To everyone’s amazement, the client was none other than Indian cricket star Virat Kohli!
For Kiran Kumar Srinivas, a supervisor at the salon and a native of Mangaluru, it was both a delightful and surprising experience.
Kohli spent nearly 45 minutes getting his hair styled and chatted warmly with Kiran during the session. When asked about his roots, Kiran mentioned he was from Karnataka, specifically Mangaluru. Kohli immediately lit up and exclaimed, “Oh, Mangaluru! Then you must be an RCB fan!”
The duo shared a cheerful moment, clicked a photo together, and exchanged a hearty handshake.
Kiran was particularly impressed by Kohli’s humility and the ease with which he interacted, leaving a lasting impression on the salon staff.
A Memorable Experience
The Indian cricket team is currently touring Australia and was in Canberra for a practice match. The salon, managed by the global chain NOAH, has branches in Melbourne and Sydney as well. Kiran, who oversees operations at the Canberra branch, shared that this was their first time hosting such a high-profile client.
“Our salon has seen visits from Australian movie stars, but having someone like Kohli was a truly special experience,” Kiran told Udayavani.
Besides getting a haircut, Kohli also browsed and purchased a few perfumes from the salon’s collection.
