Skoda, the renowned automobile manufacturer, has recently launched a limited edition of its popular SUV, called the Kushaq Onyx Edition. According to the company, the base variant is priced at Rs 12.39 lakh (ex-showroom).
This edition is positioned between the base Active and the Ambition Classic variants of the car and comes with several cosmetic changes both on the outside and inside.
The exterior of the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition features crystalline LED headlamps with halogen fog lamps, LED DRLs, and an Onyx-designed decal on the front and rear doors.
Additionally, the car has black-finished skid plates, body-colored door handles, and 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers shod with 205/60 section tyres. The Onyx Edition is available only with the 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which develops 113 BHP and 178 Nm, and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Moving inside, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition has a beige and black-themed dashboard with piano black used sparingly. The seats are draped in perforated leatherette upholstery with fabric inserts and white stitching, and an Onyx inscription on the headrests.
Other features include Onyx branded aluminium scuff plates, textile 3D-effect floor mats, and a 7-inch touchscreen head-unit with Bluetooth and wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity. The interior also boasts a climatronic climate control system with an “Air Care” air purifier function and a touch-and-slide function for adjusting the temperature and fan blower speed.
Drawbacks:
Despite being a limited edition, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition does not come with a few features that are available on the higher variants. For instance, the car does not have chrome on the window line, a reverse camera, cruise control, or a sunroof. Additionally, the car does not have USB charging ports or a wireless charging pad for smartphones, and the manual day/night IRVM is smaller than expected. It is also missing important features such as 6 airbags on the ATs, driving modes (sport), a panoramic sunroof, etc.
Overall, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition is a limited edition variant that offers several cosmetic changes.
