A-I Inter-Varsity tennis in Manipal from Dec 26.

Manipal: Manipal Academy of Higher Education will host the All India Inter-University Inter-Zone Tennis Tournament for women 2018-19 from December 26 to 28, 2018 on the campus here.

“This the first time that the Association of Indian University, New Delhi has entrusted MAHE with the responsibility of hosting the event,” said Dr Vinod Nayak, Secretary MAHE Sports Council. He added, “Sixteen Universities from the four Zones, North, South, East and West have confirmed their participation”.

A total of 80 players and 30 officials and coaches will be here. All arrangements have been made and the teams will be put up at MIT Hostel Blocks.

Matches will be played on all six synthetic courts in the university. Two in Marena Sports Complex, two in KMC and two in MIT. Matches will be played on knock out basis. The inaugural function will be held on December 26, 2018, at 9.30 am at  Marena. Former Indian cricketer Robin Singh will be the chief guest. Dr Chinnappa Reddy, Chief Patron, National Association of Physical Education and Sports science will be the guest of honour.
