Imagine going to see a first-day showing of the year’s most anticipated film only to be unable to view the second half due to a technical fault.

This is precisely what happened at a screening of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR at a California theatre. The first half of the film was shown in the theatre, but not the second, according to a film reviewer who tweeted about the occurrence today.

Anupama Chopra wrote, “First time this has happened! Went to Cinemark North Hollywood #firstdayfirstshow of #RRR. Saw first half but not second because theatre had not ingested it,”

She went on to say that the manager had not been informed that there was more.

Another user wrote, “same here @cinemark mesa, first show of #RRR waited 20min at interval and second half wont start, later was told it was corrupted. watching second time again.”

RRR is a made-up drama written in the 1920s. The movie is based on two freedom fighters – Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju, who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad.

After making edits, the film starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan was reduced to 3 hours and 1 minute. The previous version lasted 3 hours and 56 minutes.

Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, and Olivia Morris also star in the film. It was reportedly made on a 336-crore budget.
