ACB Seizes Unaccounted Properties, Bullion, Cash  Worth in Crores from 4 Karnataka Govt Officials

Bengaluru: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Karnataka seized unaccounted cash, properties, bullion and other valuables worth in crores during a raid on offices and residences of four top government officials on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

ACB teams during a single raid on the residences of Ramanagar Tahsildar N Raghumurthy located in Bengaluru, his office in Ramanagar and his father’s residence in Chikkamagaluru on Wednesday, found Rs 2.5 crore worth property in Bengaluru registered in the name of his wife and his father, 185 gram gold, 4 kg silver, Rs 81, 000 cash and household items worth Rs 36 lakh. In addition to the above, a Hyundai Creta Car, two motor cycles, bank deposit of Rs 2.17 crore,11  bank account deposits and a site in Mysuru.

The officials in total seized unaccounted 2.4 kg gold, Rs 95 lakh worth diamonds, 17.8 kg silver, Rs 2.25 lakh cash, foreign currency, $1559, Rs 15 lakh worth household durable items, 36 top liquor brand bottles, Rs 20 lakh worth wrist watches, a Maruti Swift car, a Eco Sports car and 2 motor cycles during a raid on the residences and offices of KPTCL Director H Nagesh located in the state capital. The officials have also found records related to Rs 21 lakh worth farm land, two houses, Rs 4.2 lakh worth site in Bengaluru and 5 sites worth in crores in the state capital and neighouring localities registered in the name of H Nagesh and his close relatives including his son, wife and others.

During another operation against corruption, ACB raided the office, residences of relatives of BBMP East Zone Former Commissioner Dr KC Yathish Kumar and found Rs 1.25 crore worth properties, 2 kg gold, 5.25 kg silver, Rs 10 lakh cash, a Honda Creta, a Fiat Linea Car, two bikes and deposit in 9 bank accounts. Records pertaining to 5 sites worth in crores of rupees registered in the name of Yathish and his close relatives in Bengaluru and Mysuru have also been seized during the raid.

During another raid on the residences of the Director of Technical Education Superintendent Ramakrishna Reddy in the state capital, the investigators seized documents related to a house worth Rs 25 lakh, 349 gram gold, 2.17 kg silver and Rs 21.27 lakh cash.

ACB team also found a BMW, Fortuner and Innova cars at one of the residences of Reddy. Also, Rs 40 lakh worth house, Rs 40 lakh worth flat, Rs 2.5 lakh worth farmland,  another 4.2 acre agriculture land, a house, 28.4 lakh worth land registered in the name of his close relative and 5 bank deposits have been found by ACB. All movable and immovable properties registered in the name of Reddy and his close relatives’ name, ACB said.

ACB has also seized cash of Rs 45, 000 in the denomination of demonetised Rs 1000 currency notes from the residence of KPTCL Director H Nagesh.
