Bike crashes into a lorry on the way to Goa

Udupi: Two students from MAHE lost their lives after they met with an accident at Moraba village near Gokarna in Kumta taluk on Saturday night.
The deceased are identified as Shayan Shetty (19) from Ambalapady, son of hotel businessman Satish Shetty and Shalini Shetty couple, and Arthik Salian (19) from Brahmagiri, son of Rekha Sagarika .
Incident synopsis
The four student and friends left to Goa from Manipal on two motorcycles. On that occasion, a truck which was proceeding from Ankola towards Mangaluru collided head on with the bike during an attempt to overtake another vehicle. As a result, Shayan and Arthik lost their lives on the spot. Abhiskhek from Udui and Pavan Kumar from Kalmadi were on another bike.
According to the police, the force of the impact was such that the bike toppled three times, besides the bike was also over-speeding. Lorry driver Rajesaba rom Maharashtra has surrendered. A case in this connection has been registered at Gokarna police station.
They said they were going to Manipal!
The students had not informed at home that they were going to Goa and instead, left saying they were going to Manipal.
