Puttur: A labourer engaged in repair works in an electric pole near Little Flower School Darbe sustained critical injuries following accidental electrocution. Another labourer who was on the pole during the incident jumped down to safety.
The grievously injured labourer from West Bengal has been identified as Manikya (24) from Kolkata and has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.
Apparently, the mishap took place when the labourers were replacing old cables with new cables along a high tension power line. Mescom officials are being blamed by the locals for the incident.
