Rs 23 lakh cheating case

Mulleriya: A woman who procured Rs 23 lakh from a person promising him to make him a partner of yet to open supermarket was arrested by the police on the charges of cheating and produced in the court which sent the accused to remand. The accused woman is identified as Shabana (37), wife of Naushad, a resident of Nellikunje in Kasaragod.

The accused was attempting to flee to gulf via Mangaluru International Airport when the airport officials caught her and later handed her over to Adoor police.

The complaint was given to the police after Gafoor from Bovikanna lost Rs 23 lakh in 2014.
