Adani Group to Start Cement Production with Rs 1000 Cr Investment Near Udupi

Udupi: Adani group will establish a new cement factory within the area limits of Adani Power Ltd owned Udupi Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) at an estimated investment of Rs 1000 crore, said an Adani UPCL top executive in an exclusive interview with ‘Udayavani’ recently.
Adani UPCL plant located near Padubidri in Ududpi district and the estimated cement factory would be established on an area of 10 acre land when Adani Power starts its expansion works UPCL. Flying ash obtained from UPCL plant will be utilised as a raw material for cement production and the factory is expected create 500 jobs for the local youths. Upcoming cement production unit is expected to produce 2 million ton cement a year once it starts functioning, the official said.
At present, 3 lakh tons of flying ash is being produced as a by product at Adani UPCL and the quantity of the by product is expected to rise 1.2 million tons per annum once two new thermal power plants start functioning.
