Bengaluru: The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for COVID-19 in Karnataka has reportedly recommended a slew of stringent measures to curb the spread of novel coronavirus in the state.
According to sources, the committee has recommended the imposition of Sec 144 across the state, night curfew and no physical classes for students at schools and colleges.
In its report, submitted to the government, sources informed that the committee has suggested to extend the prevailing night curfew hours between 8 pm-6 am. Presently night curfew is observed from 10 pm-5 am.
Further to curb the spread of the virus, it is recommended to strictly enforce Sec 144 across the state, impose restrictions on mass gatherings, close theatres, schools and colleges among other things.
Religious gatherings should be strictly prohibited in Bengaluru which has been witnessing a daily surge in Covid19 cases and other districts which are reporting a high number of cases, it has been stated.
