Aero India 2017 to be held in Bengaluru from Feb 14

New Delhi/Bengaluru: The biennial Aero India, an exhibition which witnesses defence players across the world showcasing their products, will kick start from February 14 next week. 

The four-day event, will have participants from 270 Indian companies and 279 foreign companies. 72 aircrafts will be on display at the event.

It will be held at the Yelahanka Airforce station in Bengaluru from February 14-18. 

Nearly two lakh business visitors are expected to attend the show. 

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar will be the guest of honour for the event. Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat and Air Force Chief B S Dhanao, Defence Secretary, G Mohan Kumar, Secretary (Defence Production) A K Gupta will also attend the event. 

Minister for State for Science & Technology Y S Chowdary, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Andhra Pradesh Minister of Finance & Planning, Commercial Taxes, Legislative Affairs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu will also attend the event. 

“Confirmation has been received from 30 countries and the process is still on,” the Air Force said. 

“In total, 65 delegates comprising Ministers of Defence, Service Chiefs, Heads of Department from Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brazil, Brunei, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Sudan, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the UK, USA and Uzbekistan are expected to visit the event,” the air force added. 

Exhibitors from USA, France, the UK, Russia, Israel, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Ukraine, Singapore, Sweden, Spain, South Africa, Italy, the UAE, South Korea, Hong Kong, the Czech Republic, Canada, Australia, Poland and Greece will participate.
