Agumbe Ghat to remain open for now

Hebri: In the backdrop of the 2nd PUC exams commencing from Mar 1st, the road repair work along Agumbe Ghat stretch has been postponed. Shimoga DC K A Dayanand had informed of a ban on all vehicular movement along the ghat stretch from Mar 19th.
An order was passed that traffic will be banned from Mar 1st to Mar 31st for the repair work to be taken along the Agumbe ghat road. However, since the 2nd PUC examination are during the very same period and the ban would cause problem for the students from Agumbe, Someshvar, Napalu and other areas who have to go towards Udupi and Hebri for to attempt their exams and in response to the complaints received in this concern the previous decision has been changed.
Preparation for repair work
The district commissioner has directed the officials of highway authority to make all preparation for the repair work by Mar 19th.
