Bengaluru: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Monday has withdrawn his recent remarks stating that the only solution left for Hindus is ‘Ghar wapsi’ of those who have been converted to other religions.
Tejasvi Surya tweeted, “At a program held in Udupi Sri Krishna Mutt two days ago, I spoke on the subject of ‘Hindu Revival in Bharat’. Certain statements from my speech have regrettably created an avoidable controversy. I therefore unconditionally withdraw the statements.”

Sources claim that Surya was told to withdraw his statement in light of the coming Goa elections, which is a Christian Majority state.
In an event held at Rajangana of Sri Krishna Math, Udupi, Tejasvi said, “In order to prevent further erosion of the Hindu base, those who got converted to Islam and went to Pakistan should be brought back to Hinduism. ‘Ghar wapsi’ must be done to revive our Hindu Dharma.”
