Mangaluru: Ahead of Karnataka polls, Congress is leaving no stone unturned to revive its political fortunes in the poll-bound state and defeat BJP.
Now, the Congress party has undertaken repair works at its district headquarters which is seen as an attempt to remove ‘vastu dosha’ (arhcitectural defects).
The changes being made include adding of an extra step to the staircase at the entrance.
According to TOI report, the party sources claimed that the building had eight steps which is seen as an unlucky number and Congress has decided to add another step to the staircase.
However, the President of the Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee K Harish Kumar denied the claims and said,” We are only renovating the building. Don’t we have the freedom to do that? There is no ‘vastu dosha’ in the building.”
Criticizing the move, BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel tweeted, ” Congress leaders insult our traditions and customs but now they have resorted to vastu to save their party. Sanatan Dharma has solution for everything. It is better to stop such gimmicks and respect Hinduism. The prediction of defeat has pushed the party to adopt such measures. Earlier, Former CM Siddaramaiah had said that he was afraid of people putting Saffron Tilak.”
