Mangaluru: Passengers of an Air-India Express flight from Dubai to Mangaluru had a close shave when the aircraft skidded after landing here on Sunday, June 30 evening.

The incident took place at 5.40 pm. Sources said that the aircraft skidded off the runway and proceeded on the taxiway towards the terminal.

The aircraft was brought to a safer position after the incident took place.

The exact reason for the mishap is to be ascertained.

It may be recalled that in 2010, 158 passengers and six crew members on board an Air India Express Flight 812 were killed after the aircraft overshot the runway on landing and fell over a cliff.
