Airavata bus enroute from Shivamogga to Mysuru catches fire

Chikkamagaluru: A KSRTC Airavata sleeper bus, en route from Shivamogga to Mysuru, caught fire at Ajjampura Cross in Tarikere taluk late on Monday night.

At the time of the incident, there were approximately 40 passengers on board.

Fortunately, the vigilance of the driver and conductor proved crucial as they promptly roused passengers and evacuated them from the bus. There were no reports of loss of lives in the incident.

The bus staff also alerted the fire brigade and police about the fire. The fire brigade later arrived and put out the blaze.

Despite the efforts, the Airavata bus was completely gutted by the flames.

The commendable response from the driver and conductor, coupled with the swift action of emergency responders, ensured the safety of all passengers.
