Ajay Singh’s supporters attempt suicide

Kalaburgi: High drama prevailed at Jewargi, Yadrami and Chigaralli Cross on Saturday, December 22 as supporters of Jewargi MLA Dr. Ajay Singh, son of former state Chief Minister Late N Dharam Singh took to the streets in protest against the MLA not being inducted into the ministry during the Cabinet rejig.
Depressed over denial of Minister post to their leader, two of Singh’s supporters even attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison. Mujeem Jewargi who consumed poison at Jewargi during the protest was immediately admitted to the government hospital and is said to be responding to the treatment. Meanwhile, police foiled the suicide attempt of the other supporter, Sharabhu Kalyani of Nelogi at Sonna cross on the Humnabad-Huballi National Highway.
Ajay Singh’s supporters raised slogans against Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) leaders and even burnt tyres in the middle of the road, disrupting the traffic flow for a couple of hours.
