Ajekar: A local Congress leader was killed in a car-motorbike collision at Neere on December 5.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Shetty (70), a resident of Neere.
The accident took place near the Neere Highway – School Cross on December 5.
Shetty, who was riding the motorbike, sustained severe injuries due to the force of the collision. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Shetty was a local Congress leader, serving as the president of the Neere Congress Committee. He also held several other positions, including president of the Neere Jaddinangadi Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society, administrator of the Neere Garodi, and president of the Neere School Development Committee. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
