Karkala: A local court remanded Dileep Hegde, one of the accused in the murder of Balakrishna Poojary from Ajekar, Karkala taluk, to judicial custody.

The Karkala Taluk Court judge, who reviewed the case on Monday (October 28), ordered judicial custody for Dileep Hegde until November 7. Initially, Dileep was held in police custody for three days. His accomplice, Prathima, is already in judicial custody and lodged in the Hiriyadka Sub-jail.

In this shocking case, Balakrishna Poojary was allegedly murdered by his wife, Prathima, along with her lover, Dileep Hegde. They are accused of executing a carefully planned plot to eliminate Balakrishna.

According to police, Prathima had been systematically poisoning her husband by adding toxic substances to his meals. Finally, on October 20, the duo allegedly suffocated Balakrishna, putting an end to his life.
