Ajilamogaru: Body of drowned youth recovered

The mortal remains of a man who died after accidentally falling into the Netravati River near Ajilamogaru Kootelu here were recovered on Friday morning.

On Thursday, the deceased Michael (32), a resident of Suratkal Kana visited his friend Sudeep’s house. After having lunch they went to the vented dam area for fishing around 5 pm.

However, Michael accidentally fell into the water and was swept away due to the water current.

Locals and fire department personnel initiated a search operation but could not trace him. The search resumed this morning and discovered his body as the water level in the Netravati River receded.

Bantwal Rural Police Station SI Harish and his team visited the location and conducted an inspection.

Michael’s family members also arrived at the scene.
