Education is a tool which provides people with knowledge, skill, technique, information, enables them to know their rights and duties toward their family, society as well as the nation. It expands vision and outlook to see the world.
But many believe that only a degree will lead them to be successful, whereas in reality, education is not the solitary way to succeed
A person can be successful in any field with the right skills. Book learning has a lot to do with the knowledge a person has, but not with the skills a person has.
Each and everyone has his/her own unique talent and teacher plays a very important role in identifying the talents and nurturing it and Akanksha Charitable Trust was started with the similar intention.
Akanksha Charitable Trust, started in 2012 has a team of more than 140 youths who are actively involved in inspiring and educating young minds in rural parts of Karnataka.
Shreesha Bhat, founder of Akanksha Charitable Trust was born in a middle class family in Puttur, Dakshina Kannada.
He was an average student who struggled to perform well in his academics. But, as he grew he realised the importance of a good teacher in a student’s life and also that a student’s abilities must not be judged by his academic performance.
Through Akanksha Charitable trust, Shreesha and his team empower children who live in remote areas, by helping them to discover their true strengths.
Shreesha Bhat, Founder of Akanksha Charitable Trust, said, “ We started as a team of 6 members and now we are a strong team of 140 volunteers. Team Akanksha has encouraged in completion of dream and hopes of many people. It was started in small village and now it isreaching corners of world. We are proud of our team”

Syeda Nayaab, ACT member and co-founder of threedhara, a project of gender equality, said, “ Akanksha has given me my own identity. It is only because of Akanksha that I have my own project working for sdg- 5 gender equality. Akanksha not only provides hope but also helps us to complete the dream”
Akanksha Trust organises various activities such as a weekly programme called Belaku where the team visits schools and educates students and Prerana programme which comprises of a two day workshop for teachers and students once a year.
The team organized National Youth Conference in Dakshina Kannada this year which received very good response from all over the country. Out of more than 800 applications 180 participants were selected for this event.
