Akshata Poojary wins gold at Potchefstroom powerlifting championship

Belman: Akshata Poojary Bola, representing India, has won a gold medal at the Asia-Pacific-African Powerlifting and Bench Press Championship held in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

Akshata Poojary, who hails from Bola village in Karkala taluk, Udupi district competed in the seniors’ category. She achieved this feat in the 52 kg weight category of the seniors’ division.

Akshata Poojary Bola has a remarkable track record in powerlifting, having won numerous gold medals. She has triumphed at the Asian level, Commonwealth Games, and World Championships. Her outstanding achievements have earned her the prestigious Ekalavya Award.
