Akshaya Tritiya is synonymous with buying gold these days, as people believe that it brings them prosperity and good fortune. The significance of this auspicious day can be traced back to ancient times.
According to Hindu mythology, this day is associated with the birth of Lord Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Vishnu appeared on earth as Parasurama on this day to restore the balance between good and evil.
Another legend is that Lord Krishna blessed the Pandavas with an Akshaya Patra, a vessel that provided an unlimited supply of food to them during their exile in the forest.
Apart from these legends, there are other reasons why Akshaya Tritiya is considered to be an auspicious day. It is believed that the Sun and the Moon are at their most exalted positions on this day, and their energies combine to create a highly positive and powerful environment.
Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej, is one of the most significant days in the Hindu calendar. It falls on the third lunar day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakha (April-May) according to the Hindu calendar.
People, especially in India and Nepal, celebrate Akshaya Tritiya in different ways. The word ‘Akshaya’ means ‘eternal’ or ‘imperishable’ in Sanskrit. It is believed that anything initiated on this day will grow and prosper indefinitely. Temples and holy places are decorated, and special prayers and pujas are performed.
One of the most popular rituals is buying gold. It is believed that buying gold on this day will bring prosperity and good fortune to the buyer. Many people also start new ventures, make investments, and perform various religious rituals on this day.
Whether it is buying gold, starting new ventures, or performing religious rituals, Akshaya Tritiya is a day of hope and optimism, and it reminds us that good things can happen if we initiate them with faith and determination.
