Researchers have created a new algorithm that matches paintings from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum through hidden stylistic connections
According to Engadget, It is developed by researchers from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and Microsoft.
It is capable of discovering potential hidden connections between art pieces that might not have otherwise been discovered by humans
It finds paired works from different cultures or artists by using deep networks to understand how close two images are. It found similarities between paintings by artists who never even met.
