Aligarh: All India Hindu Mahasabha, invented a new controversy, after reportedly releasing a calendar showing several Muslim pilgrimage centers, including Mecca, as Hindu ‘temples’.

According to a report published on Zee News website, the calendar was released on the occasion of Hindu New Year and Navdurga at the office of All India Hindu Mahasabha in the district of Aligarh in the presence of its National Secretary Dr. Pooja Shakun Pandey.

The report said that the calendar calls Mecca as Makkeshwar Mahadev temple. A message printed on the page claims that there once stood a Shiva temple at Mecca. “That’s why Shivling still exists in a fragmented state,” it says.

The calendar also shows other Muslim pilgrimage places with Hindu temple names, the report added. The royal Idgah of Mathura has been called Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, Taj Mahal as Tejo Mahalaya Shiva temple, Kamal Maula Mosque in Madhya Pradesh as Bhojshala, Kashi’s Gyanvapi mosque has been called Vishwanath temple, Qutab Minar as Vishnu Stambh while Atala Masjid of Jaunpur is shown as Atla Devi Temple, the report adds.

The Punjab Kesari reported that Pooja Shakun Pandey informed those gathered that a similar calendar was issued by Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha five years ago in 2018 as well. “The foreign invaders looted the Hindu religious places of the country and changed the name of religious places to mosques. Now they should return the religious places of Hindus to them,” the report quoted her as saying.
