Bengaluru: Congress MLA UT Khader has requested the state government to allow students to take their exams wearing hijabs of their uniforms’ color.
He was speaking while addressing the Karnataka Assembly during the ongoing legislative session.
Khader said that the exams are very important for students’ future and requested Higher Education Minister Dr. CN Ashwath Narayana and Primary Education Minister B Nagesh to consider the request and allow students to write the exams.
Earlier, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, BC Nagesh had said that hijab will not be allowed for students even in board exams.
“The students must follow the High Court’s judgment. If the students realize their mistake, they will be allowed to take supplementary exams two months after the board exams, but again, without the hijab,” Nagesh added.
