Alvas Pragati-2024 job fair to be held on June 7 and 8

Moodbidri: The Moodbidri Alvas Education Institute is set to host the “Alvas Pragati-2024 Job Fair” on the 7th and 8th of this month, expecting participation from over 20,000 job aspirants, announced Dr. M. Mohan Alva, President of Alvas Education Foundation, during a press conference.

The job fair will feature companies from diverse sectors including IT, manufacturing, BFSI, ITES, pharmaceuticals, health, sales, media, construction, and hospitality. Participants from outside Karnataka are also expected to attend.

Dr. Alva highlighted the success of previous job fairs, stating, “In the last 13 editions of Alvas Pragati and 7 job fairs, a total of 31,896 individuals have secured employment.”

He added that the Alvas Shiksha Pratishthan, under its CSR initiative, organizes the job fair free of cost for recruiting companies. To date, over 300 companies have registered for the upcoming event, and more than 10,000 job seekers have signed up.

The job fair will provide opportunities for candidates from various educational backgrounds, including medical and paramedical, engineering, arts, commerce and management, science, nursing, ITI, diploma, PUC, and ESL, as well as other qualified graduates and postgraduates. Final semester degree and postgraduate students, as well as experienced professionals, are encouraged to participate.

Dr. Alva shared details about the job vacancies available, mentioning, “There are 843 job vacancies across 20 companies, including 207 software engineering positions in the IT sector. Additionally, Amazon and TCS are offering over 400 job openings for graduates from any background.” The manufacturing sector is also strongly represented, with 52 companies offering more than 70,000 positions.

Key officials present at the press conference included Sushant Anil Lobo, Head of Training and Placement at Alvas Foundation, Prasad Shetty, Head of Journalism and Mass Communication at Alvas College, and Dr. Kumaraswamy, Head of Alvas Pragati Production Sector.

Registration for job seekers is available on both days of the job fair. Accommodation will be provided from the 6th for those traveling from distant locations.
