Moodbidri came alive with a symphony of vibrant tunes, energetic cheers, and pulsating lights as renowned playback singer Benny Dayal took the stage to present “Gana Bhabhava” at Sripati Bhat Bayalu Ranga Mandir on Friday. The Alvas Virasat cultural festival witnessed a spectacular display of musical prowess and entertainment.
Benny Dayal, greeted with thunderous applause and chants of “Benny… Benny…” from ardent fans, kicked off the musical journey with the enchanting “Lo Chahe Ulfat.” Over an exhilarating hour and a half, he mesmerized the audience with a repertoire of more than 30 songs.
The stage came alive as Benny Dayal, not only showcased his vocal brilliance but also infused the performance with dynamic dance moves, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The audience was treated to a diverse range of songs, both old and new, with Benny’s unique vocal stylings adding new dimensions to familiar tunes.
A highlight of the evening was a spirited dance performance by a group of young women to the beats of “Kya karo ha ladies” and the energetic “Bang Bang,” originally featuring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. The youth community found themselves dancing fervently to popular tracks like “Badtameez Dil,” “Pappu can’t Dance Salaa,” and “Chaiyya Chaiyya.”
The infectious energy reached a peak as the crowd enthusiastically joined Benny Dayal in singing classics such as “Iam A Disco Dancer,” “Ishq Deewani,” “Koi Yaha Aa Nache Nache,” “Om…Shanti..Om,” and “Bachna Ae Haseeno,” seamlessly blending Hindi and Punjabi hits.
Benny Dayal’s musical ensemble, featuring Carl on bass guitar, Josh on lead guitar, David on drums, Alok on keyboards, Rakesh on trumpet, Rahul on saxophone, and Alok on percussion, added depth and rhythm to the electrifying performance.
Before the musical extravaganza, a grand procession took place, featuring dignitaries such as Dr M. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alvas Educational Institutions, Captain Brijesh Chowta, and businessman Mustafa. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, accompanied by the Alvas Band and NCC cadets, marked the inauguration of the event.
The second day of Alvas Virasat continued to draw a sea of people, including children and elders, to the Sapta Melas. As the sun set, the enthusiasm of the crowd only intensified, with thousands filling the 40,000-seat auditorium well before Benny Dayal’s concert. The event featured not only the musical spectacle but also bustling fairs, including food stalls, exhibitions, and agricultural displays, attracting participants from schools and colleges across the district.
