You can now speak to Amitabh Bachchan on Alexa. Amazon on Thursday, August 19 launched the voice of the 78-year-old Bollywood star as a part of its efforts to amuse existing users and attract new consumers to use its voice assistant.
This is India’s first celebrity voice to feature on Alexa.
How to use Amitabh Bachchan’s voice on Alexa?
Users will have to pay an introductory price of Rs 149 per year. You need to say, “Alexa, introduce me to Amitabh Bachchan” to purchase the celebrity voice. You can also get it directly from the Amazon site. Once the payment is confirmed, you will be able to start interacting with the actor’s voice.
The celebrity experience features content handpicked by Bachchan such as stories from his life, a selection of poems by his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan, tongue twisters, motivational quotes, and more.
You can interact with Bachchan’s voice using the wake word “Amit ji” by asking, “Alexa, enable Amit ji wake word.” It will work alongside the default “Alexa” wake word.
Puneesh Kumar, Country Leader for Alexa, Amazon India said, “At Amazon & Alexa, we consistently innovate on behalf of our customers and building the Amitabh Bachchan celebrity voice experience with one of India’s most iconic voices has been a labour of love. Creating the world’s first bi-lingual celebrity voice required us to invent & re-invent across almost every element of speech science – wake word, speech recognition, neural text-to-speech and more.”
Users can interact with Alexa and Bachchan’s voice in English, Hindi or both.
