Amid Sec 144, BD activist assaulted in communally-sensitive Shivamogga

A Bajrang Dal activist was allegedly assaulted in Bhadravati here even as prohibitory orders under CrPC Sec 144 continue to remain in force in Shivamogga.
The victim identified as Sunil is undergoing treatment at a hospital. The assailant has been identified as D Mubarat.
The incident took place in Nehru Nagar which falls under Halenagar police jurisdiction.
According to the police, the assault was due to an old enmity between the two.
Meanwhile, the situation in Shivamogga continues to remain tense and a tight police vigil is being maintained to avoid untoward incidents.
