Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a two-day visit to Karnataka, marking his first visit after the state assembly elections. Scheduled to arrive in Bengaluru on Saturday, February 9, Shah will engage in various programs, including the Sattur Jatra Mahotsav.

The Union Home Minister’s visit holds significance due to the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

During his visit, the Union Home Minister is likely to hold marathon meetings with party leaders. Candidate selection will be brainstormed based on the survey reports already conducted.

The upcoming meetings are expected to address crucial questions regarding candidate selection, including the fate of sitting MPs and the possibility of introducing surprise candidates. Additionally, there is speculation that the candidate list for 10 to 15 constituencies with strong winning prospects might undergo revisions.

Meanwhile, former minister V Somanna, aspiring to become a Rajya Sabha member, has urged JDS leaders to support him in the Tumakur Lok Sabha constituency. Several incumbent MPs, such as GS Basavaraju, Srinivas Prasad, Ramesh Jigajinagi, and GM Siddeshwar, have declared their retirement from electoral contests.
