Amit Shah’s roadshow: Know about traffic arrangements in Mangaluru on April 29

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s roadshow in the city, the Mangaluru police have made alternative arrangements for vehicular traffic and parking for Saturday, April 29.

Mangalore Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Kumar R. Jain announced the alternative arrangements on Friday for ensuring the safety and convenience of the public.

Traffic Diversions

  • All buses plying on Udupi-Mangaluru route should move on Kottara Chowki-KPT-Nanthoor-Shivabhag-Bendoorwell-Karavali Circle-Kankanady Circle-Valencia-Mangaladevi and return via the same route.
  • Buses coming to KSRTC bus stand from Udupi side will be routed via Kottara Chowki-KPT-Battagudde-Bejai-KSRTC bus stand.
  • All buses coming towards State Bank from Talapady and Padil will ply via Pumpwell-Karavali Circle-Kankanadi Circle-Valencia-Mangaladevi and return via the same route.
  • All buses departing from KSRTC bus stand should route via KSRTC-Kuntikana towards KPT or Kottara Chowki.
  • All light vehicles coming from Kottara Chowki towards State Bank should proceed through Ladyhill-Mannagudda-Balaji Junction-Bunder Junction.
  • All light vehicles plying towards Balmatta from Lalbagh side should take either BG School Junction (Besant Junction)-Jail Road-Karangalapady-Bunts Hostel-Mallikatte or PVS-Bunts Hostel-Mallikatte.

Vehicular traffic ban

  • From 3 pm to 7 pm, all types of vehicular traffic except emergency vehicles will be prohibited from Town Hall-Clocktower-KB Katte-Hampanakatte-KSR Road-M. Govinda Pai (Navabharat) Circle-PVS where the roadshow will be held.
  • Vehicular traffic is also banned on Rao and Rao Circle-Lady Goschen Hospital Road, Central Market-Lady Goschen Hospital Road, Central Market-Clock Tower Road, GHS Road-KB Katte Road, PM Rao Road-KS Rao Road, Sharavu Temple to KS Rao Road, Bavutagudde (Near City Center) to KS Rao Road, VT Road-Bishop House Road (Near Yenepoya Hospital), Gaddegeri Road to M. Govinda Pai Circle, Sharada School to M. Govinda Pai Circle,  PVS Junction to M. Govinda Pai Circle, Milagres Road to Hampanakatte Junction, and Forum Mall to AB Shetty Circle Road.

Parking ban

  • Parking of vehicles is prohibited from Maryhill Helipad to KPT Junction-Battagudda-Kadri Kambla-Bants Hostel-Ambedkar Circle-Hampanakatte Junction-AB Shetty Circle and on both sides of Hampanakattee-Railway Station Road-Town Hall Road from 7 am till the end of the event.
  • Parking of all types of vehicles is prohibited on both sides of the road from Town Hall-Clock Tower-KB Katte-Hampanakatte-KSR Road-M.Govinda Pai (Navabharat) Circle-PVS from 7 am to the end of the program.

Parking arrangements for attendees

Vehicles coming to attend the program should be parked at Dongarkeri Canara High School ground, Bavutagudde St Aloysius School ground, and Pandeshwar Rosario School ground.
